Step
1:
This begins with a free consultation where different shapes
are tried on to determine the best style and combination
of ideas to suit your body type, and this is followed
by your selection of the primary color scheme, possible
fabrics, and at this stage we generally produce a sketch
of the gown to capture and record all your ideas and preferences.
From the sketch we are able to estimate the cost of the
gown and on your acceptance of quotation the dress is
scheduled for production.
Step
2: 16 to 20 weeks before the wedding.
A toile fitting is scheduled - this is the dress in calico
form. At this fitting, any changes can be discussed and
the neckline is double checked.
Step
3: 12 to 16 weeks before the wedding.
The fabric of choice is cut, and the shell of the dress
is put together. You will see the gown for the first time,
and the fit is double checked before any draping of trims
or embellishments are added.
Step
4: 8 to 12 weeks before the wedding.
This is the official second fitting of the dress trims,
and draping gets put in place and everything is checked
to ensure the bride is happy to progress in the diretion
of the original design. If not, any modifactions or changes
are entertained in this fitting. Any beading is discussed
and worked out.
Step
5: 4 weeks before the wedding.
This is the final fitting. The lining is in place and
the dress should feel complete. Any beading is on, and
the dress is ready to take home. If any weight loss is
detected at the final fitting, the bride can leave the
dress with us to collect one week prior to the wedding
when minor adjustments can be made to ensure a perfect
fit on the day.
